"Then I got closer and realized that it was a hand." The hand belonged to John Huff, 56, a postal worker from Mount Airy who had been sitting on the bank and had fallen in. Although it remains unclear how long Huff had been in the water, Saint Clair, 32, said Huff was "fairly docile" by the time he reached him in his boat. Saint Clair dove over the side, grabbed Huff and waded with him to a sea wall.

When a pedestrian passed by on the bank, Saint Clair asked him to hold Huff in place while he retrieved his boat. was semiconscious at that point," Saint Clair said. SCOUTING REPORT When the college baseball season opened this spring, Penn junior Doug Glanville had projected as a potential top 10 pick in the major league draft in June. Although a sampling of big-league scouting directors would appear to indicate that he has slipped out of the top 10, the talented centerfielder is still regarded as a high pick. "I would say late first or early second round," said Jay Hankins, the Phillies' director of scouting. "Although with his tools, his speed and his defensive ability, he could go earlier." San Diego Padres director of scouting Randy Smith also likes Glanville.

"His stock has dropped some but he is still going to go high," Smith said. "He can really run. He can play centerfield. He can do some Kansas City Royals director of player personnel Joe Klein added: "I like him. I question his bat, but everybody does." Glanville had an outstanding season for the Quakers.
