Brazington, a dentist who practiced in North and South Philadelphia clinics for more than 30 years, died Tuesday. He was 75 and lived in West Philadelphia.

Brazinger also maintained a private practice in West Philadelphia, where he provided neighborhood residents on fixed-incomes with dental care at reduced rates, according to his son, John. "He had a deep compassion for the disadvantaged in society and sought through his work to not only improve health conditions, but also quality-of-life conditions. He was a loving and caring man," wrote John in a tribute to his father. Raised in North Philadelphia, Brazington was a Northeast High School graduate who went on to Washington, where, at Howard University, he earned both his undergraduate and his dental degrees. A veteran of World War II, Brazinger served in the Army for five years and was a lieutenant before his discharge in 1946.

He and his wife of 34 years, Mabel "Toni" Coffey, married in 1959. "He was a strongly committed husband and father, who loved and cherished his family, said Toni Brazington. Toni Brazington was one of the founders of LINKS, an organization of concerned women who deal with improving the quality of neighborhood life in Philadelphia neighborhoods and who work with youth groups. Her husband also was a person with a deep sense of social commitment. He was active in West Philadelphia community affairs.

In the erly 1970s, he led a successful campaign to close a state liquor store that had become a vexation to the neighbors due to the presence of unsavory elements loitering about the building. He also was active in a number of civic and professional organizations, among them the Philadelphia County Dental Society, the Pennsylvania and the American dental associations, the NAACP, DZIALO Juty 12, 1993, EDWARD JOSEPH loving husband of Madeline (nee Kitten), devoted father of Madeline Marie and Edward J. dear brother of Andrew and the late Stella Radomicki, Marv Cie-sielski and Adam. "She was a private-duty nurse, and a 15-year veteran of the Army Reserve who left military life after being honorably discharged for medical reasons," said her daughter, Sibrena Stowe.

Evans took great delight in traveling, often in the company of friends from the military or family members. "Since my mother had eight sisters, there was always somebody willing to provide companionship on trips around the states and into Canada," added Stowe. Evans, who was raised in West Philadelphia, was a member of the American Legion. When she wanted to have a social evening, she would stop by a local pub in Elkins Park where some friends had formed a women's dart team. "My mother didn't shoot darts; she kept score and kept morale high, cheering on all the shooters," said Stowe.
