Pvt. Gerald R.

Dimpter, 23, 7050 Greenwood was found under a mesquite bush where he had sought refuge apparently, from the desert sun. An Army doctor said he apparently had been dead for seven days. Dimpter was found eight miles from the spot where he was last seen. He had been "captured" in a mock battle and turned loose to make his way back to his unit.

His canteen, which was full when he disappeared, was lying emptying nearby desert where temperatures during the summer soar well above 100 degrees. Dimpter, who had been in the Army eight months and stationed at Fort Irwin since April 22, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Dimpter, of the Greenwood st. address.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Marlowe; two sons, John and Christopher, and eight grandchildren. MORRIS LEATHER, of 5006 N. 8th operator of Starlite Bleach died Saturday in Jefferson Medical College Hospital. He was 78.

Mr. Leather was a member of Rabbi lander Memorial Synagogue. He survived by three sons, Stanley Leather and Milton and Samuel Schultz; two daughters, Mrs. Ida Goralnick and Mrs. Hilda Schlein, and two sisters and two brothers.

Bowden, 204 Gulph Creek Radnor. She was 72. Formerly of Lansdowne, Miss Thomson was a member of St. John the EvangelList Episcopal Church. Also surviving are two brothers, Henry and Donald.

HERMAN E. LUPUS, wholesale drug salesman for 35 years, died Friday at Misericordia Hospital. He was 60 and lived at 117 Washington Havertown. He was a Mason. Surviving are his wife, the former Katherine Kugler; a daughter, Mrs.

Elizabeth Mathers; a stepson, Bruce Spragg; five grandchildren, a brother and two sisters. CHARLES KINGSMILL, a retired trucker and produce dealer, died Friday at his home, 2047 E. Westmoreland st. He was 85. Surviving are' his wife, Mary, and a brother, Joseph.

York County Pair Die in Auto Crash Paul Thomas, Artist, Dies Paul Kirk Middlebrook as, an artist and portrait painter, died Saturday in New Rochelle (N. Hospital. He was 75. Mr. Thomas, who lived at New Rochelle, was a native of Philadelphia.

He graduated from Penn Charter School in 1892 and attended the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel Institute of Technology and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Mr. Thomas, who also was known for his landscapes and sculpture, was awarded a bronze medal at the St. Louis Exposition for his portrait of Mrs. J.

Madison Taylor. He also painted Dr. Joseph Taylor, the founder of Bryn Mawr College; the Rev. Dr. William Budd Bodine and Dr.

George Morrison Coates. He was a member of the American Artists Professional League, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert J. S.

Harris, and a son, Falconer Thomas. JACOB GREENBERG, a partner in Greenberg Brothers Grocers, Crum Lynne, died Saturday at Chester Hospital. He was 59 and lived at 335 W. Ridley Ridley Park. Mr.

UAW Votes Pact In Pottstown Pottstown members, of the United Auto Workers voted Saturday 481-200 for a three-year contract with the Doehler-Jarvis Division of National Lead ending a seven-week strike. Richard T. Gosser, UAW international vice president, said the agreement would increase pension and health insurance benefits for about 3000 employes in four plants throughout the tion.
