Brown Quaker volunteer, 84 Anna "Nan" Bennett Brown, 84, of Westtown, a member of the Society of Friends who volunteered on various Friends committees, died of Continued on next page Obituaries Sally Heinemann Homemaker, volunteer, 71 Sally Jean Wallace Heinemann, 71, of Wyncote, a homemaker who was an advocate for mentally retarded children and a volunteer for other groups, died last Tuesday at Abing-ton Memorial Hospital. In the late 1960s and the 1970s, Mrs. Heinemann was a teacher's aide for mentally retarded children and was associated with the Montgomery County Association for Retarded Children and the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.

For many years, she was a volunteer for the Abington Memorial Hospital Meals on Wheels program. She also led group singing sessions and helped residents with vision problems at the Wyncote Church Home. During the 1970s, she also volunteered at the Glenside Library. Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Heinemann lived in the Chicago area from 1937 to 1949, graduating in 1944 from Oak Park-River Forest High School.

In 1948, she earned her bachelor's degree from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Md. She had been a resident of Wyncote for the last 32 years. Mrs. Heinemann was a member of the Glen-Wyn Questers for more than 20 years, serving as its president in 1990. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Wyncote for the last 32 years and was an elder and a deacon.

She had been co-president of the women's fellowship group and at the time of her death was acting secretary. Since the 1980s, Mrs. Heinemann had been a member of the Master Singers of Montgomery County. Her other interests included bird-watching, horticulture and music. She was a supporter of the Philadelphia Orchestra for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Heinz J. Heinemann; children William Peter G. and Paul a sister; and five grandchildren. A memorial service was held Sunday. Burial was to be private.

The family suggests contributions to Calvary Presbyterian Church, Bent Road and Fernbrook Avenue, Wyncote, Pa. 19095. Charles A. Dando Retired executive, 76 Charles A. Dando, 76, of Glenside, a retired paper company executive who flew with a famous bombing group during World War II, died Wednesday at Abington Memorial Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Dando graduated in 1938 from Northeast High School for Boys and attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps as a first tenant, flying 33 missions as a bombardier aboard a B-17 Flying Fortress. He saw duty with the 303d Bomber Group (Hell's Angels) stationed in Molesworth, England. His was part of the first B-17 group of the Eighth Air Force to complete 25 missions over Europe.

Mr. Dando had lived in Glenside for 39 years and maintained a summer home in Avalon, N.J. In 1992, he retired as executive vice president after 52 years with Matthias Paper where he was in charge of sales and operations. He worked in the headquarters in Yeadon, Delaware County, and in the office in High Point, N.C. At the time of his death, Mr.

Dando was president of the Avalon Fishing Club. In addition, he was a 35-year member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Wyncote and was a trustee. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Brown Dando; children Anne Oldfield, Barbara Snavely, Susan Weed and William a brother; and nine grandchildren. A memorial service was held Saturday. Burial was to be private.

The family suggests contributions to Calvary Presbyterian Church, Wyncote, Pa. 19095. Frederick de Sloovere 3d Trucking company driver, 51 Frederick J. de Sloovere 3d, 51, of Yardley, a trucking company employee who had been in landscaping, died Sunday at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Mr.

de Sloovere was born in Bryn Mawr and raised in New Hope, where he graduated from New Hope-Solebury High School in 1964. After graduation, he was drafted into the Army and went through Officer Candidate School. He became a first lieutenant and transportation officer in Stuttgart, Germany. After his military service, Mr. de Sloovere was a landscape construction foreman until 1986 for Moon-Rickert's commercial landscape division in Yardley.

He worked on projects along the East Coast, including the South Street Seaport in New York City, the Inner Harbor in Baltimore and corporate assignments for IBM Corp. and Bell Laboratories. He had been employed since 1986 as a driver for K-Y Transport in Tul-lytown, Bucks County. Mr. de Sloovere had been a Yard-ley resident for the last 26 years.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Margaret Bell de Sloovere; children Frederick J. 4th and Kathryn two sisters; and a brother. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. SERIN Oct. 12, 1997, LEON, husband of Lucv (nee DeVecchis) Serin, of Ardmore, PA father of Judv L.
