It was the third victory for St.

Josaphat, and the Manayunk combination is now right at the heels of the leaders, St. Anne's and Kayoula, for first place. The Nativity, champs of last year tried several of guards in an attempt to switches the visiting forward, but Guzak stop proved too fast. The ultimate winlanded eight field goals and ners Guzak hit the nets for five of the eight baskets. He cut fast to take passes and shot several from a distance.

His work was the best witnessed at this hall this season. His shooting was the more remarkable because of Nativity's low ceiling, but Guzak had the range down nicely and sent the ball on a line through the nets. Stanzak and Zebulski, and later Christy, formed A strong defense and Johnny Shriber was the only Nativity man that could break through successfully Three of the five Nativity baskets came from Shriber's accurate tossing. Another stellar performer for Nativity was Johnny Lynn, its new centre. Up against the tall Siekiewicz, Lynn did splendid work.

He jumped equally as well as Sienklewicz and the pair followed each other so closely that neither could dent the nets from the field. Nativity reserves defeated St. Josaphat. reserves in the preliminary, 34 to 22. ST.

Relative easiness of the Liverpool close was ascribed to week -end profit-taking that preceded opening of business here. On the other hand, shippers' offerings of wheat to Europe were higher, and fairly large export sales of Canadian wheat to England were noted.
