He does not predict another Catholic League title nor the retention of the city championship but does say that his boys will be hard to beat. And don't forget no Burr team has lost to a Catholic League rival since 1940, a stretch of 28 games. Last year's team was undefeated with 10 wins including the grand climax with Northeast High School for the city crown. Only three regulars have returned while the 1944 list also includes three other letter winners. Co-captains Mike Bogan and Bob Connor and Joe Dougherty were the lads who helped to win the title, the former at end and the latter two in the backfield.

Frank McCartney, end; George McAndrews, guard, and Jim Burke, center, were the other letter-men. These win form the nucleus of the JOVFS. Aug. 15. 1944.

The Public High School Conference football coaches will meet Sept. 11 or 12 to dsucsuss the new rules recently adopted by the Eastern Intercollegiate Football Association, Henry Brachhold, chairman of the conference football committee, said last night. Brachhold indicated the conference would adopt the changes.

II so, these schools would be able to meet members of the P. I. A. A. and the Catholic League without serious complications.

The P. I. A. A. for several years has used the National Federation of High Schools rules, which permit forward passing from any point behind the line of scrimmage.

The Catholic League adopted this last winter. The Interacademlc League coaches will probably meet In mid-September to adopt the changes. The next regular meeting is sched uled for Oct. 1, but Secretary Donald MacCormick said last night that the coaches woul4 probably meet earlier. Most of the coaefhes of both groups are out-of-town, but Ray Keegan, coach of the championship Episcopal TcRdemy team, and Wns Hackman, West Philadelphia High School, voiced approval.

Keegan has played under the new rules and said it made no difference in the final outcome, but believe the faater game Is more interesting. Hackman said he wanted the Public High Conference to adopt the rules last spring. KEN HAT Narragansett Results (By A. ist 4 up. erf 2.31 3.
