Mr. Garron was chief industrial engineer at McGuire Air Force Base for 30 years before retiring in 1977. A native of Indian Mills and 50-year member of Indian Mills United Methodist Church, he was president of the Indian Mills school board for eight of the 12 years he served on the panel. He was a member of the Indian Mills Planning Commission and captain of the Burlington County Civil Defense. Mr.

Garron was a member of the Army Air Corps during World War II. After retiring, he worked part time for the Veterans' Service and helped maintain veterans' graves. Survivors: his wife, Ruth two sons, William E. of Indian Mills and Brent of Colorado; a daughter, Brenda E. Schauman of Sebastian, a brother, William of Brown Mills, and four sisters, Mary Wal- lingford of Indian Mills, Florence Sherican of Stuart, Edna Abrams of Medford and Sarah Johnstone of Somerdale.

He attended Fessenden School and graduated from Berkshire School In Mass. and Dartmouth Codege In N.H. In Word War II he was awarded the Atlantic Star for combat service as a pdot in the R.C.A.F. Transferring H. IK In hMl P.rWr KfWt European Theaters, "he attained the rank of Lt.

Col, Awards were 4 battle Stars, 3 Air Medals and the Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Clusters. He was one of the 6 Aleutians Combat Veterans picked from the Utti Air Force Heavy Bomber Squadron to fly the first mission across the North Pacific against the Japanese. After leaving the service Mr. Franrine became an outdoor writer. For his work mapping unknown territory Labrador, he was elected a member of the Explorers Club of New York.

His wilderness trips included a thousand mde iournev from Quebec City down the Rupert River and across James Bav, and an 800 mile trip in an open launch along the sub-artic coast of Hudson Bav. His account of these trips were published in the Hudson Bay Quarterly, Sports Afield, and Yachting Maoazine. Mr. and Mrs. Franclne operated a Bovs Wilderness Canoe Camp on the Mistassini River, Quebec, Candada for serveral vears.

He was a member of the Quebec Garrison Club, the Explorers Club of New York, founding member of the Northern Quebec Guides and a licensed Quebec Wilderness Outfitter and Deputy Quebec Ranger. Survived bv his wife, Dolores Stanton, of Limerick, Maine, his sister, Anne H.
